View Full Version : MUFC, deserved or once again victimised cos we're British?
bladesufc1 05-04-2007, 08:01 According to the news this morning the Head of the Rome Police stated His policemen were justified because they thought the police were going to be trampled!!!!
i think Bo**ocks
The Roma Police had already advised that the Roma Fans were going to start trouble in and outside the ground, so why no coppers on there side of the fence!! Ggrrr no wonder there's football violence in European Cup Games and world cup. Were getting our own back. They come over here and get treated like royalty, we go over there and it’s f**k the British
Eleven Manchester United fans were taken to hospital after violence erupted around their match against Roma, the British Embassy has said.

It was actually Man Utd that said their fans could be attacked and they were.
This should have been expected from the beginning given what happened when Middlesborough played there last year.

... or Rome itself :hihi:
The Italian police have done it again blaming other supporters instead of there own,the way they waded into the Man Utd supporters I thought someone is going to get killed here. They are nutters & Man Utd want to report the Animals.
Robbie Loving 05-04-2007, 15:04 You know, thankfully there was Sky there last night. Perhaps something can be done about the heavy handling by the coppers. I'm not saying the manure fans are totally blamess, but nobody deserves to be beaten with a baton whilst laying on the ground like i saw happen to one person.

Spot on mate, neither sets of fans were blameless but the Manc fans didn't deserve that, I watched some highlights and it was sickening!
firecracker 05-04-2007, 15:48 And if you looked more closely you would realise that Man Utd supporters were attacked just for being there. It wasn't just youngsters who were being attacked, but also mature men in their 40s and 50s. I could just imagine if my grandfather were still alive today and went to that match. He could have been attacked by those truncheon-wielding thugs at the ripe age of 106. But these head-hunting Italian coppers live in self-denial. Trouble is always caused by somebody else. Never the supporters of Italian clubs who are the most notorious hooligans barring the supporters of clubs like Galatasaray etc. And nobody dare criticise the NHS when you look at what passed for a hospital those Man Utd supporters with the most grievous injuries had the misfortune to be in. Once they came around after a hefty dose of smelling salts, they could have been forgiven for thinking they were in Ramadi instead of Rome. This was positively Third World. Much as I dislike Man Utd, I hope they utterly destroy Roma in the return leg at Old Trafford (hat-trick from Christiano Ronaldo, please), and I also hope Bayern Munich do the same to AC Milan.

Excellent post. Savage beatings, whilst layed on the floor, should be saved for peado's and child beaters not, innocent footballing fans. Yes the Man U supporters were not exactly angels, but to be subjected to that was nothing short of criminal, which is what the, so called 'police', were there to prevent, criminal activity.
why is there always problems between italian and british supporters??

There's rather more problems between Italian and Italian supporters. Rarely does a Rome or Milan derby pass by without the obligatory stabbings. And you'd think there was a glassworks outside the stadium, given the number of bottles thrown onto the pitch during a match.

Tremendous post, and I'd also like to say that I hope Tottenham will thrash Sevilla too. It's very interesting as well that the main media have said "Hang on." here too. In days of yore, when times were bad, nobody would have stood up to be counted, yet here, when clearly, English fans have been 'hard done to' (euphemism used), even the BBC have said "Wait a minute.".
If any one of us had done our jobs as badly as that lot did, we'd be on a disciplinary before our feet touched the floor.
The FA has to speak to UEFA about this, as should the Government to the Italian and Spanish Governments.
I've seen what English 'fans' have done (Dublin springs to mind), but from what I saw, there was no need for what happened.

Very true, viz a certain European match in Milan the other year.
