View Full Version : How do I train to be a "Bovver" Boy?
shoeshine 04-04-2007, 20:13 Granted, I'm a retired bloke, but I have conformed to society's rules all my life. I've taken to wearing jeans and trainers etc etc, but I don't seem to make an impact when I stride down the streets!
What am I doing wrong........
No offence mate, but perhaps you're a bit long in the tooth for all that "making an impact" malarkey? :P
shoeshine 04-04-2007, 20:21 No offence mate, but perhaps you're a bit long in the tooth for all that "making an impact" malarkey? :P
So it's my flat cap and whippet I should get rid of?

Lol, keep the flat cap certainly, I bought one myself from TJ Hughes last week, even though I know for a fact I'll probably never wear it.. At 31 I'm far too young to join the flat cap and whippet brigade just yet IMO.

What am I doing wrong........:confused:You don't have to actually be trained to be a bovver boy, you need to be de-trained and relieved of all your knowledge of decent behaviour, manners, courtesy, respect, consideration etc. Then just the uniform which in my youth was short Levi stayprests (sp) and red braces, Ben Sherman shirt, Doc martens, shaven head and f***wit tattooed on your forehead.

I'm gonna tell me mam about you!
Jabberwocky 04-04-2007, 20:43 I was a well known bovver boy in the 70s and early 80s when I was in my late teens/early 20s..
I was well known mostly to me and most of the under 10s in the area who used to follow me along the street calling me Mr. Potato head and asking me why I had apparantly shaved my head with a pair of garden shears.
I had the obligatory tattoos on my knuckles, Love on one hand, Hat on the other. (My biro ran out of ink)
I finally gave up my life of mindless violence when I was beaten senseless by an old lady who I attempted to mug for a Halls Mentholyptus sweet but in recent years, Ive considered going back to my violent, bovver boy ways.
I`m not sure weather to go for the hoodie look or the skinhead look, but either way, the next person I attack had better be bloody good with his dukes, and he`d better be swift on his feet, because my main tactic is going to be kicking his white stick away before hitting him with my zimmer frame.
You don't need training, you're having us on.
pattricia 04-04-2007, 20:44 I'm gonna tell me mam about you!
