Is anyone home educating their children at present, or had any experience of doing so?
Or does anyone know of any Steiner or Waldorf schools in the area?

I have been very quickly dissillusioned with conventional schooling and have been looking at the Steiner websites which profess a much better philosophy to teaching then is currently used in the mainstream in this country.
Just wondering if anybody has any experience of the alternatives?

Hi,
I know of quite a few families that waldorf home educate. They tend to meet up quite a lot and share lessons. My children also attend Steiner Kindergarten in Sheffield.

I am currently doing a degree in Steiner Waldorf education to take over from the current kindergarten teacher in Sheffield when she retires.

If you want to chat Pm me and I will give you my telephone number.

You could also visit the Merlin theatre/tintagel house at Netheredge for a visit to the kindergarten and a chat with robert and Judith Chamberlain. This is a Steiner centre.

Also Sheffield looks like it will be having it's own Steiner upper school in the not too distant future, which is good news as the nearest one at the moment is Heanor.
