Hmmm, in the interest of seeing if this code actually worked I seem to have ordered one! It's a bloody good price though so can't complain, just got to see if they cancel it or not!!

Check out hotukdeals and it's a promotional code with Empire direct, I have had confirmation so waiting to see if my cheap PS3 ever arrrives!
:)

This price seems really, really low -

Are you sure that you have not inadvertently given your SWITCH card number to a 15 year old criminal mastermind in Latvia ? :o

i got scared at the credit card details bit (part3) but it does not do anything until you confirm at part 5. It's part five that has the bit where you can enter a code. If it does not work you have not actually ordered anything so you can just close the window.

Ta Neeeeek was a good saving, but it wont take it off the xbox (just dont update its price) And the ps2 you got now seems out of stock (Althought one with sonic is 650 before discount) Hope yours comes through for ya, reading others on the deals site they say it should :)

It gets more complicated! They sent the email with the correct price on, then the other day someone rings me to say that my bank would not authorise the transaction, I asked how much and they said £600 !! I pointed out that they were never authorised to take that much and the chap said speak to their help desk. I spoke to the helpdesk and was informed that the voucher code was not for high value items, she said that because the transaction had been rejected by the bank it was cancelled so that was I did not need to do anything else. I mentioned that I was OK with that but was still not happy that they tried to take £600 from my account but she did not seem to care.
THEN yesterday the guy rings back to say that my bank had refused to authorise the transaction again, this time for only £350 so it seems like after all that they did not cancel it and are going to honour the sale. I don't know if I can be bothered with it any more though! It's still a good price and everything but I have just bought a Valve pre and power amp on a whim so may be I should forget about the PS3 for a while!
Still tempted but not convinced! The bloke is ringing back later so if I want it I either pay over thee phone or call the bank and moan at them for blocking it.

On another forum the exact same thing has been happening to most people who tried to get that deal. They end up paying the full amount plus the discounted amount. At least your bank rejected yours. I was considering it myself but didn't want the hassle of cancelling if it messed up. If you look on the site now PS3s are all marked as "Clover Leaf" (high value) items.

EDIT - think it was hotukdeals as mentioned in the original post where I was reading about it.

Go ahead and buy it, its a fab console. R:FOM is a great game aswell. I just meant I would have paid extra to have got it straight away and avoid all that hastle, but I suppose it matters how much saving just under £80 means to you :)
