I'm making my own wedding favours, i've bought the net circles and ribbon and now i've got to think of what to put in them, as my wedding doesn't seem to be going down the traditional route i didn't really fancy sugared almonds in mine, I've been thinking along the lines of Jelly Beans or Dolly Mixtures.

So....what are you putting in yours and can anyone give me any more ideas?!

I saw them! You can get the sweets with just married on too but they are really expensive!

I put those fortune telling fish and a heart shaped chocolate in my favour boxes. People loved them. Thought they were amusing.

I was going to say, what about small pieces of chocolate in foils? You can make your own on a budget. I was reading a Green & Black cook book on tempering chocolate. So, you can mould it to any shape that you like. Very personalised, but takes a while to do.

There's also a lot of mini chocolate eggs around this time of the year cos it's Easter. I've seen some really nice ones by Lindt. It works out to be less than 10 per chocolate. Or some Mini Kinder egg choc, which are just as nice. Pop down to your local Woolies to check them out.

Or using something like that "Baci" kiss chocolate for wedding favours are great. If you are going to Cyprus, you may be able to get some at the airport. They're Italian chocolate which has a small it of paper inside it with a lovely proverb or romantic saying.

Mini champagne bottles of bubbles are also good. I think you can source them online. I personally prefer the choc idea. I found some amazing favours website from the US when I was trying to put something together for my brother's wedding.

How about love heart sweets - you can order them with just married on the sweets and even have you name & date on the little packets!! I think these are fantastic!!

Have bought chocolate eclairs wrapped in gold and silver foil for our favours, as no-one we know likes sugared almonds.

I am getting some chocs in a little box from the choc shop in Broomhill.

I was also thinking of making some biscuits. You can buy a heart shaped cookie cutter from the breast cancer awareness site. You can icing the cookies in your colour theme, or bake coloured cookies...

I might serve them with the coffee...

Favours, etc: For anyone looking for something a little different and special, and not too costly (for the most part), I got this catalogue through my door yesterday - wish it had been around when I got married, so I thought I'd share it with you lot. It's called Cox and Cox. Some lovely stuff.

It's got an email address, too: www.coxandcox.co.uk

Enjoy!

HIya, we put lucky dip lottery tickets in an envelope & then put it on one of those little photo holders for everyone to keep too. We did only have 30 people at our wedding but at a pound a head we still found it cheaper & we all had great fun that night seeing if anyone won. Don't think anyone did but I haven't seen a few for a while so maybe? Try the website www.aquarterof.co.uk they have a website full of old fashion sweets etc, you might find something a bit different, they do fruit salads & black jacks etc.Good luck on the day
