My Daughter has her own home (Council) and a partner.
She has one child to him and another on the way, however without giving her life story he is the laziest B*****D i,ve ever met.
He won't get a job as he's affraid of paying rent and has a daughter from another partner which gives him a good reason for not having to although she is lumbered with her not him.
She pays all the bills as he only drags in £80 a week from DSS and blows that on fags.
I get on her back to get shut, theres plenty of decent guys out there who would take her and the baggage and give her a better standard of life.
She never has no money cause he don't earn any.
I know its non of my business but i,m sick of lazy gits like him and wish she'd dump him now and look for someone better.
She's only 22 and a life ahead of her but with him, well i,ll say no more.
Anyone else in a simular position.

She sound like she needs a better type of guy CR.
Tell him to come to my firm and get some doorman work. That'll either make or break him (although it's sounds like the latter to me).

She needs to get out and meet a nicer guy. But first she needs to get shut pronto. One thing I hate is lazyness when it comes to earning a living. If someone 'can't' work, then fine. But having a child elsewhere and not wanting to pay full rent is NOT a valid reason to NOT be able to work!

In simple terms firewalls are mostly there to stop naughty people getting access from outside into your corporate computer systems thru the internet connection. (Like those spotty youths do in dodgy thrillers, getting into Nasa, the pentagon etc just in time to save the world from Killer Bees).

Content filters (e.g. Websense if anyone is interested http://www.websense.com/) are there to stop the corporate wage slaves surfing porn sites instead of doing all the fascinating tasks their masters pay them for. Think of it as a robotic moderator. Once you hand out that kind of control then there are all sorts of opportunities to stop people doing stuff so they will filter out naughty words like [edited] and [edited] so anyone looking for information about cancer of the [can't use a word like breast here] or that recipe for Chicken [shock horror!] in passata with shallots the filters say "Oh no you don't sonny Jim, you don't use our computers to go looking for stuff about ladies bits".
The filters can also be set to prevent access to Sports and Job Advert websites and anything else that's popular but non-productive.

The forum doesn't want to get flagged up as a "dodgy website" by those corporate filters in the mistaken belief that the grasping capitalist obergruppenfuhrer will say - if my people want to waste the time I'm paying them to work for me on the forum, that's just fine by me. In your dreams, moderator.

Wake up! I've finished! now you can go and read something more interesting.

yay, finally someone who knows what i mean :D

i refer to them as "corporate firewalls" basically because when you have one, you always have the other and in effect they become one and the same :)

some filters are extremly cack/dumb because words like "scunthorpe" are blocked :o

i find it interesting ;) does that make me geeky ;)

Not in the least. It's very interesting, especially in light of things like neuromancer and snow crash, as well as the very well publicised 'hacking' stories in the news. It's electronic warfare really - although electronic breaking and entering might be more appropriate. (ahem)

The thing with trying to influence other people's lives, because they can't see what is right in front of him/her, is that it can lead to them really digging their heels in.

It's a natural reaction - if you perceive someone to be telling you how to run your life, you will probably try and resist by doing the opposite.

Maybe you could try and drive him away with kindness. Make him part of the family, get him visiting grandparents and taking dogs for a walk etc. Go round and visit a lot because he's "such a nice guy". Phone him and invite him out to the pub. He may well get fed up and get lost.

Just a wild suggestion.

If your serious about that then i could put him onto you, he can handle him self which is why i let steam off on here rather than to him:) (coward).
But he,s about 34 would that be to old for that game.
Don't get me wrong DB he's a decent guy but he won't commit to responsibility and thats wearing my daughter down so then i have to muscle in, right or wrong.
She's very pretty, to good for him and personally i think she shoulds get out and look around and maybe get a life.

If he's not even willing to get a job to support his children, then maybe she should start thinking about looking elsewhere. Although, having said that, if he actually sits down and re-evaluates his priorities - i.e. his children and girlfriend take priority over daytime TV, then he could turn out to be a decent bloke. I don't know the guy, so can't, and won't judge him, but in general, I've never understood why some girls always seem to stick with men who either treat them like crap, or are just not willing to 'do their bit', so to speak.

Trouble is i feel like telling him but don't want to interfere if you know what i mean.
I do tell her to get rid but it comes to nothing so heck knows what she really wants.
I do know she aint happy with his lazy outlook.
Best thing is when she met him she had a young man who was the nicest bloke you would ever wish to meet.
He was more her age, a manager of a shoe shop, had a decent car and lived with his parents on Greno in a nice big house.
he used to bring her chocolates and flowers every Friday and took her on holiday.
He never said a cross word the type of guy any girl would take home to meet mum.
She packed him up for him.
Makes me wonder what runs through there minds at times.

Women often go for the wrong type, especially when they are young, there is an attraction to the rogue etc...but eventually they usually realise what benefits a good honest bloke will give but it's not guaranteed. You and your daughter have my sympathy cycleracer, It's difficult to advise as you are well aware.

Serious.... the security firm I work for are crying out for decent lads. He will need to do the training course (around £110), then get his Sheffield Doormans Badge (another £35) then he's all set for doorwork.
Find out if he's interested and I'll put you in touch with the right people.

More or less guaranteed. There are a lot of agencies that will supply him with work who operate in Sheffield.
Once in the business and getting a name for himself as a 'stayer' rather than a 'hide in the bogger' (if you know what I mean) then he'll find work no problem!

Answer this on PM... does he have a criminal record?

Not really, thats the price you pay i suppose with having kids, but it gets worse but i,ll not harp on about that.
Its good though to get peoples opinions on these matters as it comes in usefull to sort the problems out.
This forum is more powerfull than you think and its also good to hear from people in a simular situation as with my Son.
I got PMs from people who are or have been in that position even from users that never post on this forum.

Debouncer, sorry about the late reply, he does not have a criminal record also he told me he knows someone who bouncers and reckons they may not be enough work.
Although....He rang me to ask me to get him an application form for security work with the civil service, so i will do that prompto before he changes his mind.
Thought i was hearing things when i got the call,, my constant verbal insults on him at my daughter must be beginning to rub off.

Who ever told him there was NO work in being a Doorman is rubbish!
The firm I'm with is short staffed on Door supervisors as they have sooooo many contracts. If he's ineterested, you know where I am!
