Is it just me, or the particular tram I use or does anyone else have trouble hearing what the next tram stop is over the tram intercom?

Pilon 31-10-2004, 20:02 I don't think it's just you - the voice over the intercom is usually rather muffled. That's why it's always better to look at the green visual readouts suspended from the ceiling. Pete1024 31-10-2004, 20:10 Unfortuantely, not always accurate, I got off at the university, the tram said next stop city hall. Andy C 01-11-2004, 09:27 It is usually clear to me as long as it is the pre-recorded one. Mind you, I don't get the tram that often, as I don't live on the route. I have to use buses, which don't have announcements or scrolly messages! ToryCynic 02-11-2004, 12:51 "The next stop by request is Meadowhall South" :D That woman is bloody annoying. Alex vothod 02-11-2004, 21:32 nope - the Halfway/Maling Bridge man is much more annyoing and damn scarier. When youre coming back through town and she says "Passengers for Halfway should change here and cross to the opposite platform" she sounds so excited!  It makes it sound illicit and thrilling to change trams, and anyone who can do that should be applauded  edd sheffbag 03-11-2004, 10:06 The voices are employees of Supertram, they held a raffle/draw to see who would get the jobs. It has been automated so the drivers dont have to make the announcements as quite a few either didnt or were so far from the microphone that they couldnt be heard. nick2 03-11-2004, 10:44 One of them can't say "Attercliffe", it sounds like "affercruf" |
