Its fantastic. Tonight they are have a halloween special and have been playing - Tubular bells - themes from other horror films. Including stuff I've never heard before like Tangerine dream and Song Number 9 off the beatles white album, and black Sabbath. Its scaring the hell out of me. And some kids came trick or treating and they ran off.

I've had it on for two days- its amazing. Does anyone else like it?

Radio 6 music is indeed excellent. I get it on Sky channel 870. Think a link to listen live online would be http://www.bbc.co.uk/go/6music/int/bannerlistenlive/-/radio/aod/6music.shtml

Wow! Revolution #9 (to use the correct title) is probably the least known/heard Beatles' track and this must be one of the few times it's ever been played on radio anywhere!

Thanks phil, I will give it a go, although I am not sure if it's intended for my old ears.. :)

They play good music from all eras/genres (regardless of if you think your ears are old you should give it a go), and being Beeb there's no commercial adverts. I'm a total convert to it. I find myself even quite enjoying things like the reggae show (think it's on a Saturday evening) and I previously believed I hated all reggae. It's a great station if you want to hear good music you won't hear elsewhere. Beats all the (imo) boyband/britney rubbish that commercial stations in this area pump out 24/7.

I 've had it on since my earlier posting phil, and your right it is a good mixture of all kinds of music...it's been added to my favourites. Still not sure about Reggae though...lol.

I bought a DAB tuner for my hifi a few weeks ago and 6 has been a revelation.
The spirit of JP lives on with that station.

its the only radio i listen too, it helps me keep sane at the office

the best bit is nothing gets over played like on other channels -the dj's seem to have more than 5 tunes to play

Phil Jupitas's breakfast show on 6 is good. I'm not normally a fan of the man, but he has cracking taste in music, and is the only breakfast DJ that doesn't make me want to kill everyone around me, and then kill myself. So, that's good.

I've been into radio 6 for the last couple of years. They play a good mix of stuff.

We play radio six every day on DAB (digital) radio. Didn't realise I was so cool.

I was sat here listening, and lo and behold up pops Roger Chapman and Family, singing No Mules Fool. What a blast from the past......that's me hooked :)
