I have a 10 mnth old kitten free to V/GOOD home, his name is harry and is a wonderful cat, he has been an indoor kit since we got him at 6 wks old and he is slightly afraid of the outdoors, he is a v/friendly and loving cat, he is black and tan with white socks and a white chest, the reason for getting rid of him is we now have a 2 wk old newborn and harry has decided he doesn't like the newborn and as much as we have tried we are afraid of harry maybe one day scratching our little peanut, he is good with older children (fabulous with our 4yr old) but not so with babies, so we feel this is our only choice, you will have to provide your own cat box to pick him up in as we have another much older cat that is v/placid and doesn't mind the new addition.

i had a baby myself last summer, and had to get my cats used to the baby - they didn't like her at all. are you determined to rehome your kitten? it's probably just taking him some time to adapt to his new (lower) position in the pecking order in your house - he's probably scared of the new arrival. once he's used to the baby he'll probably be absolutely fine, but 2 weeks isn't very long. would you consider keeping him until the baby is 8 weeks to see if the situation will improve? i wouldn't want you to stress yourselves unduly when you ahve a new baby because i really do understand how hard it is with a newborn, but i wouldn't want you to think tha tyour cat won't adapt because it almost certainly will if you give it time.
