My new all time favorite without a shadow of a doubt is - David Brent. When hes waiting for a blind date to show up and she arrives and he turns to the camera and says 'For ****s sake.' Its just comic gold.

I'll go with Arthur Daley as well. At Minder's height he was the most famous person on tv - even had a song in the charts about him. I read somewhere that George Cole actually came up with the rhyming slang phrase 'Kettle' (Kettle & Hob) for watch (Kettle & Hob - Fob as in fob watch).
