I've seen some terrible reviews of this. Has anyone seen it?

Would be surprised if it was any better than the original.

Alfie was a brilliant film the original that is] there again so were the Italian Job and Get Carter. The remake of Get Carter was simply apalling and although I've not seen the remade Italian Job the trailers don't look great. It'll probably be the same with Alfie, take a classic and ruin it, they'll probably be looking to remake the Whistle-blower next.

I've watched the remake of The Italian Job and guess what, it's a GOOD film.

It bares no resemblance to the original except for a Mini chase.

Now if it would have had it's own title and the mini chase was just put down to a homage I think it would have done a lot better.

So I'll go into Alfie with an open mind.

It dos'nt take place in 60's London and bares little again so why they give them selves a mountain to climb by calling it "Alfie" I'll never know?

The trouble is a bad remake will probably make a lot more money than an avaragely good film.

And saves on having to worry about looking for inspiration as well.

It was listed in the top 5 worse film remakes ever in some poll... i did read that in the daily star though - oh the shame!
