Anyone seen accident on Hagg Hill this eve, 7.30 to 8ish? I think it was a dark blue Astra van or estate that judging by the damage had rolled into the bushes on the right going up the hill from Rivelin. It looked like the kind of accident that could happen if someone was overtaking on the way up but that is entirely speculation.

I can see Hagg Hill from where I live but heard nothing.

There was a couple of recovery vehicles there with lots of flashing lights at 8.15 when I passed. The car was back on the road but flattened on drivers side, the blokes where looking about the bushes with torches.

Hope the driver is O.K. Its funny I never heard an ambulance or police.

This is bad news indeed. Before long the council will make it one way or install a chicane in the middle.

I do hope that no one was hurt.

With the increase in interest in the Hagg House allotments recently, more and more people are parking cars on Hagg Hill (myself included), this may have something to do with the accident. The council say they will not reopen our carpark, so there is no where else to park. Maybe they will reconsider after this.

I'm off to the allotments this afternoon, so i'll see if i can get any information
