View Full Version : A book you would like to read, but haven't yet.
pattricia 30-03-2007, 12:07 Ive just seen it in W.H.Smiths. Its called" Blood and Sand " by Frank Gardner, the BBC s security correspondent who got shot in Iraq.Against all odds he survived this, and recounts his journey from that moment, to his recovery and to being partly paralized today. I didnt have enough money on me to buy the book, it was either that or my Lottery ticket.I will get it next week though,as I admire the man.
i always wanted to read about nostradamus. got one of his prediction books (bargain basement) recently and whhhhhhhhooooooooo its either a bit spooky, or modern man/woman have manipulated, in translation, what he said to mirror significant events in history. i prefer the former, its more exiting.
pattricia 31-03-2007, 18:21 A lot of people seem fascinated by Nostradamus dont they ? I dont really believe in his predictions, and just think its coincidence and luck.

Do you still want to read the book, when youve seen the film ? Surely you know the ending ?
Jabberwocky 31-03-2007, 21:43 Kings books have a magic that the film just cant reproduce.

Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley probably tops the list, Ralph Ellison's The Invisible Man is another I'd like to get my nose into.
