does anyone have any pictures of the flats that they'd post links to or be willing to send me?

I believe they've been demolished and would love any pictures to remind me of my youth!

Cheers

When I was 18 back in 1997 the council housed me on Claywood Drive in the blue block (Norfolk)

I remember that as you drove up to the flats there would often be abandoned or burnt out cars there and smashed glass on the floor. When coming into the building you had a key for the main door but it was often left open and the ground floor flats were all boarded up due to breakings.

Going up to my flat on the 6th floor I had a choice of gong in a dimly lit lift that always had **** on the floor up to a dark hallway that was often un-lit. Going into the flats they were not to bad to be honest, very warm but not overly secure as some drug addicts used to try and break in by climbing on the side of the building or coming through the fire escape panel on the balcony (luckily I was not affected).

I remember the nights that people would be screaming and yelling inside and outside and people off their faces banging on the door to open up. After about a year I think it got to the point that the utility companies were refusing to come out and the fire crew were there every week putting out fires in the basement.

The location was great for town but how the hell I survived living there I will never know.
