I read it a few years ago and thought most of it was good but I dont totally agree with her philosophy on the wolf thing. I cant see that all breeds of dogs behave as wolves would do in the wild as some breeds are bred so far away from that. I agree their has to be pack leadership, but I think that lower down the ranks there is not a set order to a pack in a family dog situation. I have three dogs and although I know that I am Alpha and my dogs respect me, I dont think the dogs have a set ranking below me, if that makes sense :huh: I think if you have a problem dog then she talks some sense, but I could not relate most of what she says to my pack. For instance I allow my dogs to go through the door before I do and I allow them the run of the house they run ahead of me on a walk and I dont have any problems. It is a good read though. |
