I'd have to agree, there are other players that have contributed more to football in England....

I personally think Zola is great and i wish Chelsea had managed to talk him in to staying. His passion is on a par with people like Dicanio, Shearer etc etc....

I happen to think Zola is one of the greatest foreign players to ever grace the premiership. Not sure about an OBE though.

i think if anyone deserves an OBE, it shouold be arsene wenger

Zola totally deserved an OBE. I don't think he was ever booked as a chelsea player and was universally respected. I remember a huge ovation from the cop the year before he left for Italy when he was subbed.
He contributed a lot back into the game as a role model - not just a money grabber as a lot of the imports are.
Also not mentioned here (or eleswhere very often) is the huge amount of work he did for various charities while in this country.

I think he did alot for the English game. He was one of the first really big name players to come over here, and that paved the way for a lot of the great players we see every week now. I think the english game has improved so much over the last 10 years, and we have players like Zola to thank for that.
