Not just Maclaren who is a bit of a N*b Head then. Scotland ended up with 4 "Strikers" on the pitch last night in the shape of Miller, Mahoney, Bhoyd & Beattie. No wonder they couldn't score. They were falling all over each other!
Not one of thier better performances, the defence seemed to be "unhurried" to say the least. OK we were playing against the World Champions, ( on penalties ) but we played better against France.
Ref didn't help much as he kept stopping the game by blowing for every little push and shove, mind you he was from Belgium so won't see much decent football usually.
Man of the match for us - Gordon, Great in goal. Let's think we can do better at Hampden in return game.

I'm not really one for foreign footballers but i have to say that Zambrotta impressed me last night for them !
And Gattuso. By god. I cant think when i last saw a player sweat that much thorugh sheer effort !!
To be honest, considering the opposition, and the overall quality of Scotlands squad I thought they did well. I like the lad miller , he impreesed me, with a bit more support I think he might have nicked something.:)
I think that if they can keep picking up points here and there they are still in with a good shout despite what some of the pundits are saying.
Scotland were done by 2 set pieces, they played with passion & fought all the way to the final whistle & could have scored against the WC,it's a shame that England did not fight like the Scotland lads did.I enjoyed the match better than the England one & NI were superb Healey is a class player.

The day they were drawn in the same group as Italy and France their Euro campaign was as good as over.
Let's be honest though - for Scotland, avoiding finishing bottom of their group must count as a successful campaign.

Aye. I know what your saying. Before the campaign started i thought that, but they now have point son the board and ,although they had luck against the French. It only take a couple of results like that to swing things around.
YHaving now said all that they'll probably fail to beat the Faroes and make me look a mug

I was thinking something similar to that about Northern Ireland.
If they are going to slip up; it will probably be at home to Lichtenstein in August, when they might be still "switched off" after the summer break.
The big difference now with Scotland; than to say a year ago is their players believe they can get good results now.
