I have noticed with increasing regularity that when I sit down at my computer I start to sneeze and my nose starts to stream. I don't sneeze just the once but over and over again, as though I have an allergic reaction. It could be the books in the office or I wonder if it is the brightness of the monitor that sets me off as it seems worse at night. Does anyone else have any of these or simliar experiences when using their computer ?.
Just had a thought, maybe I caught a virus from my pc ?

Some people do have photosensitive sneezing but it's usually when they go to a bright place from somewhere darker.

One possibility is that the static electricity around a CRT PC monitor attracts a lot of dust and general crud - you may be reacting to this.

The laptop I use here seems to accumulate all sorts of stuff, incluidng cat hairs and general dust, no matter how often I wipe the thing down - and that doesn't even have a CRT monitor, just an LCD one.

Just a thought.

That all sounds very logical , I will try cleaning around the PC more often and see what happens. Cheers !

Funny you should say this, I have a mate and when he sneezes he goes on for about 5 minutes. It's inherited apparently lol.

Thank god for that..... I'm NOT alone !
So whats your slant on this kirky ?
I don't think it's an inherited trait as I only developed it when I got the computer.

I don't think it's an inherited trait as I only developed it when I got the computer. I presume that you both have large noses that touch the monitor screen, and the sneezing is caused by the elecrostatic current disturbing the hair in your nostrils.

Some people are sensitive to Ozone, and Laser Printers give that off in quite large ammounts if they've been around for a while.

You leave my big nose alone Timbuck. I can't help it if I slipped on some custard, running for a second helping of chocolate pud at school and broke my nose !
