Hi there
If you change your mind and want a Lhasa Apso (these are very. very similar - they just dont have the flat nose) then let me know.
We have a Lhasa Apso and we got him from a breeder in Dewsbury - she was really good and lots of experience and the mum and dad are lovely!
Good value too
Loops
List of Breeders Here (http://www.champdogs.co.uk/guided/all_shih-tzu_breeders.html) or narrow it down to breeders in our region by using the location limiter at the bottom of the list!!
I would expect you to pay around £500 for a puppy from a reputable breeder.
There is a Shih Tzu Cross called Alfie and a Shih Tzu called Kip on www.dogsblog.com - I would recommend you keep checking the site for updates too!!

Hi funkyukgal! welcome to pets
If you're gathering info, please take the time to read this (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=152354) which holds some excellent advice on buying a pup.
Also try the Kennel Club puppy sales register here (http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/asp/PSAR/psar-search.asp?breed=Shih+Tzu&loc=9) the breeders with rosettes in front of their name are KC accredited breeders (can be looked up on the KC website if you're unsure).
However please be aware that:
1. you should be willing to travel to make sure you get the right pup for you
2. you certainly shouldn't buy a pup because it's cheaper. If the litter you choose to buy from happens to be slightly cheaper then fair enough but remember to put all health screening first.
3. You should feel comfortable to ask the breeder anything you like. If you don't feel comfortable with the breeder walk away, this is someone you will be dealing with for the rest of the pup's life, they should ask you to sign a contract meaning at any point throughout the pup's lifetime if you can no longer care for it, you must return it to the breeder.
If the breeder refuses to answer any of your questions or tries to fobb you off about health tests, walk away.
PS. Some people prefer to refuse to see the pups until they've spoken to the breeder and are comfortable with them and have met the pups' parents and are happy with the temperament because it's a lot more difficult to walk away from a litter of puppies than it is from a breeder when you haven't yet seen the pups
Good luck!
A friend of ours (in Sheffield) who breeds and has both Shih Tzus and Lhasos has a litter coming quite soon. I think they are shih tzu ones, but couldn't say for sure - and I have no idea if any have been reserved yet. PM olliekitten if you want more info...

Hi ya i have emailed them 6 times, and not had one reply. I find that ignorant, quick email donsn't take long.
PM me if you are still wanting one, i can highly recommend a breeder, she is awaiting the arrival of them. I have reserved one :)
