The council has changed from paying your Council Tax in arrears to paying in advance because they can recover 1 month money.

Now, I still pay at the end of the month, or close so... and despite paying ALL my council Tax up to date, I always get a reminder saying if I do not pay I will be taken to court, etc... Never got one before the switch.

Personally I think they are wasting probably 50 pence per letter and because of this switch it is costing them more.

Does anyone else get this or have you changed your habit to paying at the beginning of the month?

I have been the same, always getting a letter or sometimes one month behind but i have just started a direct debit so it comes out on the 1st of every month.
I have always resented paying council tax but it has to be done and thats why i was always late in paying it but i don't really feel the pinch now it comes direct out of my account because i don't have to go to the housing office something else i always hated and even worse wait in a queue.
