help me PLEASE!

We have ordered tickets for honeymoon in my married name. I know the registrar needs to sign the papers 3 months b4 wedding then can get new passport in new name, thereby flying in married name (on tickets).

I am not getting married in Sheffield (although because this is where we live it is sheffield superintendent that have to give permission). I wondered if sheffield registratrs are able to sign the forms (save me travelling lots of miles). I have tried e-mailing my wedding registrar but they have not got back to me yet.

Any ideas? What's everyone else doing?

(It'd be handy to have a registrar on the forum to direct questions to :) ).

i thought that you could fly using your maiden name on your passport if you carried your wedding cert with you? although i don't know how that works with the tickets, too...

in short, i don't know, but i'd try ringing your registrar rather than emailing. it's harder to ignore a phonecall.

We got married abroad but booked the holiday in my maiden name so we wouldn't have this problem.

We have booked honeymoon flight tickets in my fiancee's (to be) married name.

She sent the form by post to the registrar (Bakewell in our case) and they posted it back. Took about a week I think. She rang them first, had to leave a message because they never pick up the phone

Now she's sent off for her passport and we're still waiting for the new one (got the old one back so something must be happening...). Better arrive soon
