does anybody remember sammy and know wats happend to him

If you are talking abouut the Sammy who used to wander about the centre of Sheffield, he died.
He used to call in the place I worked.
He once kept his finger on the bell continuosly while I was on the phone and when I finally answered he presented me with a single daffodil. I have fond memories of Sammy.

Thanks for that George. I can remember being in Hillsborough when the lads on the kop were singing to him
"Saaaammmmy saaaammmmy i'd walk a million miles for one of your smiles" etc etc he used to laugh and love all the attention, and the lads always laughed with him not AT him.

because he used to use his disability to scrounge drinks..seen him do it many times in the park hotel

my dad used to take sammy around to the wednesday games.
