Just bought GTA3 San Andreas, which is an 18+ game.
18+, what a joke.
There were 10 year old kids giving the game to their dads to buy and then carrying it out of the shop.
The sales ataff didn't seem too bothered about this, at £40 a pop I'm not suprised though.

Thats the parents fault, not the shops.
Chris.
This happens with every game/dvd that is an 18. No stopping it really!
When I was a couple of years younger I wanted to get the film 'Apocalypse Now' (it was 18+)
Had to give money to my mum to buy it.

Yeah but surely the shop should notice if a kid who is clearly too young for the game is trying to blag their parents into buying it for them.

Is the 18+ thing on games a legal thing or just a recommendation?
Yeah but how are they going to stop them.
They're not technically breaking the law. A person aged 18 or over is buying the game, that's all the people at the counter see.

Blowing people away with machine guns/shotguns/uzi's/grenades/rocket launcher etc etc.
Chopping people up with knives/chainsaws etc
Running people over.
List goes on, they'll love it  :D
Sounds like good wholesome family fun.
Can't believe people don't notice the 18+ guideline on it though.

At the end of the day, they don't care.
They could be buying the most gory, violent blood soaked game ever (Mortal Kombat for instance) with an 18 rating but rather than face the wrath of little Johnny "I want everything cool" at home the Parents buy it rather than go home empty handed.
