View Full Version : Photo on Season Ticket
scottishdude 27-03-2007, 10:02 I overheard in a shop yesterday that they are going to put your photo on season tickets next season. The lassie was saying that she wouldn't be able to use her sisters ticket next season now. Any comments fellow forumers?
I think this is generally a good idea but I can see what you mean. Not sure how it will work.
bladesufc1 27-03-2007, 10:11 Yes its in the star either yesterday or today.
on the SWFC thread on here, people were bragging that they could get away with kids season tickets.. so really its a good idea, and will give you more cash!! as some of your supporters are ripping the club off.
but i'm sure this happens in most clubs 2
michelle697 27-03-2007, 10:12 all this is doing is making sure those that share season ticket,s can,t do it any more

That isn't really fair....sometimes you genuinely can't make the match and have to give your season ticket to a friend/relative.

I believe you will be able to take it into the ticket office in advance; and exchange the appropriate voucher for tickets to give to friends/family.
Photographs are needed for season tickets at the concessionary rate already; after people abusing the system previously had been identified in recent seasons.
(I haven't worked it out recently, but the season ticket price means you get about 5 games free ? I miss more than that a season now with all the midweek home games, but as I'm giving money to the team I support, it doesn't particularly worry me.)
In all honesty, to the lady who shares a season ticket with her sister; if you look anything roughly like her, by the time you've got a hat on / or tell him you've just restyled your hair, the operator on the gate is hardly likely to quibble anyway. They are not going to be DNA testing everyone.

At the lane there is a trial card system in place at the moment, I think it will be used throughout the ground next season.
The card doesn’t have a picture on it but as you swipe it to get in a light comes on inside the concourse highlighting if it is a concession card.
I have seen a number of heated arguments between stewards and fans usually when a group come in together, no more handing over half a dozen tickets and pushing through the turnstile with a hood up or a cap pulled down.

Something similar is in already effect at a number of grounds.
At Elland Road recently stewards were watching which turnstiles were being activated by people using concessionary tickets; and then questioning them.
It looks like more people try and get away with it as a one -off at away grounds; rather than their own club' ground... where they become known after a while.

I don’t think it’s the sharing of tickets that’s the problem; it’s the gross misuse of the concession system that’s at the bottom of it all.
Many other clubs use a swipe card system, its inevitable really.
sorry geocol you beat me to it !

It states on all season tickets that they are not transferrable.
Clubs like to know who's sitting where and rightly or wrongly, make as much money from fans as possible.
I wouldn't mind... noone but me uses my season ticket.
It isn't a problem to me, either.
But, it will be to people, who are using tickets that have been purchased from "Postman Pat" and his friends, that they acquired "in the course of their duty".
What a pity!
scottishdude 27-03-2007, 18:35 It's going to effect quite a few Man Utd season ticket holders considering they have been "dead" for years. ;)
