Did anyone ever used to do this and dont be shy . . .me and a girl at work have just been sayin how when we were younger we used to ATTEPMT to make perfume out of flowers . whats all that about!!:hihi: never ever worked but guaranteed every weekend id be tryin to make it. :loopy:

Ooh yeah I did that! Picked rose flowers from the garden then mixed them with water and gave it to my mum as a pressie.
She was so lovely - she used to play along and wear it - EVERY time I made it!!

I had forgot about that my nan used to go mad as we had picked all her flowers.

And it always used to smell AWFUL anyway!!

Lol, I remember once getting a right Backhander off our owd fella, for shaking every single blossom from the cherry blossom tree on the back garden. Never did it again.. :hihi:

omg! that was the one i thought only i did but mine were 'mud potions' haha. water in a bucket with some grass from when the lawn had been cut and lots of mud. yummy lol. :gag:

Along the same idea - I once fell into a load of nettles and got stung to bu**ery. I was SO angry and upset, I went and got a load of dock leaves, mashed them all up in a big bucket of water and went and threw them on the nettles thinking that would kill them. I was most upset whent the nettles didn't wither and die before my eyes.

I once stripped the rose beds of the local school/ college of carrier bags of petals & made 5 gallons of rose petal wine.

When we were kids we had a wallow (honestly we did) a big muddy squelchy hole we used to dive into, and the ground had alot of clay in it. We also used to make animals from it and leave them on the coal bunker to dry in the sun :hihi:

When I was a kid I heared that certain food colourings were made from beetles, so I mashed up several insects to try to make various colours.
It didnt work, but it still tasted good.

I used to dress my cat up in dolls clothes and out her in my pram then wheel her about like she was my baby. Poor Pebbles:hihi:

Everyone must have tried to make perfume from flower petals ... it never worked, did it? Went all mushy and smelt like drains after a couple of days :(

Daisy chains, crowns, belts, bracelets ... such harmless pleasures we enjoyed back in the olden days :)
