Hi,

Can anyone help - I've been offered a temping job in Stocksbridge, but I don't have my own transport, so I was wondering what the bus service to Stocksbridge was like, bearing in mind I live in Crosspool, so would probably have to get a bus to town first.

TIA

The following buses go to Stocksbridge:

57 58 if you are going from Sheffield City Centre. Between them there appears to be a bus about every 15 minutes, but go slightly different routes.

201 Rural-links bus does an orbital route, starting in Sheffield City Centre and goes via Broomhill, Crookes, Hillsborough, Oughtibridge and Deepcar to Stocksbridge, then continues to Tankersley, Chapeltown and Meadowhall. This bus runs hourly, but the first bus doesn't get to Stocksbridge until about half nine.

Timetables available at www.sypte.co.uk

Thanks for that mate - just checked out the times - looks like I'll have to be at the Interchange for 8am! :wow: Not good for a lazy person like me!

Bearing in mind that the 58 takes owt up to an hour to get there.
As it goes through parts of wadsley, bradfield etc.
I live in stocksbridge and the only real option if you want to get anywhere in decent time is the 57, every 30 mins.
on the hour and half the hour from pond street.
as for the 201 forget it.

If you are getting the 51 from Crosspool into town, you could get off on Leopold Street and walk down to West Bar for the bus to Stocksbridge.
