What is the best way to get to Fulford, york?

I will be starting from Barlborough, near chesterfield. Last time I tried it took me 4 hours!!! (following the aa autoroute planner.

I am terrible at directions and always get lost. I do know that coming back I followed someone from Fulford to Barlborough and it took me less than 1 hour.

Please help! and make it simple for me to follow as you just couldn't imagine how bad my sense of direction is.

I get horribly lost in Meadowhall!!!! So I don't go.

Used it a few times myself to get to a friends there.. it's a bit of a trial first time and the A162 does take you through the villages a bit but it's a lot better than the A1 to A64 turn off route which takes you right out of the way.

But the Lady wants to go Barlborough to Fulford,not Sheffield to York.

Don't follow Kirky's directions at the York end - way off!

Come off at the A19 (not the A1036) signposted for Designer Outlet Mall / Selby / York Centre

Left at the roundabout and you are in in Fulford.

M1 -> A64 is the way to go.
