At Primary School, we were taught this song which went through the letters of "Christmas"
I can't for the life of me remember it to teach the kids at work so thought I'd ask if anyone can help me. I've got as far as:
C is for the candles burning so bright
H is for the happiness felt on Christmas night
R is for poor Rudolf and his shiney nooooose
then I think it's
I is for the icicles bla bla bla

HELP!

Here we go.....this is the US version, though. Couldn't find the UK version.

Christmas Alphabet - The McGuire Sisters
Words and music by Buddy Kay and Jules Loman

C is for the Candy trimmed around the Christmas tree.
H is for the Happiness with all the family.
R is for the Reindeer prancing by the window pane.
I is for the Icing on the cake as sweet as sugar cane.
S is for the Stocking on the chimney wall.
T is the Toys beneath the tree so tall.
M is for the Mistletoe where ev'ry one is kissed.
A is for the Angels who make up the Christmas list.
S is for old Santa who makes ev'ry kid his pet.
Be good and he'll bring you ev'rything in your Christmas Alphabet.

recorded by The Maguire Sisters - although I think that Max Bygraves may have inflicted a version on the world as well.

Max did have a go at it in the 70s, but the UK hit was by Dickie Valentine in 1955

Here is a miserablist version

C is for those cxxts that turn up every year
H is for the hangover from cheap and nasty beer
R is the reindeer that craps on your head
I is for ice that leaves thousands of pensioners dead
S is for those slippers that granny bought for you
T is for the TB that turned the old bag blue
m is mums sugar free triffle that tastes of wallpaper paste
A is for All the turkey that has to go to waste
S is for the snow you slipped on and banged your head
Christmas Fxxkin sucks!! I want Santa Dead

I believe that The Smiths wanted to record this for their christmas single. I shouldn't introduce this to the kids though:heyhey:
