Hi,

We have a PS3 and everyone keeps saying its good online (like the xbox online) but I have never played a console online.

How do I do it?
I have the internet (obviously) at home with a BT homehub wireless router thing.

Can someone help me in simple terms? I dont know where to start!

Also is it true that is better to have my console linked to internet so I can ensure I always my PS3 has latest software?

Thank you:)

Plug everything into teh router, switch it on and it should all fit together nicely hopefully.

That's how it worked on teh 360 anyway.

If not there should be an FAQ on teh Sony web site or a book of words in the PS3 box (instruction manual).

Forget the cable -you dont need one.
If you have a BT Home Hub, just make sure its turned on, and the PS3 should detect it.
First go into "Network Settings"
Then into "Internet Connection" - set this to Enabled.
PS3 should detect your Hub (it doesnt even have to be in the same room - same house usually is ok)
It will prompt you for a WEP key (which is on a sticker on the back of the Home Hub).
Enter it, and you are away.

PS3 is even easier to set up online than the 360.
Additionally I had to pay an extra £60 for a Wireless Router for the 360, which you dont need to buy on PS3.
Mind you the Xbox online service was better than PS3.
