I know some pet shops can be in terrible states, for my next pair of guinea pigs I'd like to get from someone who has handled and tamed them. Do you know of any place in Sheffield (sanctuary, adoption or individual) suitable? If you know of a pet shop that DOES take good care of their animals, then I'd be willing to check the place out. :)

If you look on www.guineapigrehome.org.uk there are loads of piggies available fopr adoption all over the country. Also try baileys_mum as she sometimes has babies for sale.

Fishers Pet Shop on Hillsborough road off Middlewood road is fantastic and all their animals are very well cared for.

Really? Last time I went I thought the animals were in filthy, appauling conditions. :o

I go every week and their animals have always been in great condition!!!

About a year go. I live in Loxley, so I'm often in Hillsborough. Admittedly I haven't been in since then, but all the times before that I thought the bedding was rather filthy and there were too many animals in one cage. Plus mixing rabbits and guinea pigs is a no-no for little babies. The poor mites.

I think you would be very suprised if you went in now.

They dont mix guineas and rabbits and the bedding is always very clean.

I once popped in this shop for some chin food, I go loads now. The staff are very nice, and the prices are reasonable too.
