just to add to the above lance has also targeted the athletes hour record,currently held by britians Chris Boardman,where he set it at Manchester veladrome.Any one who was there that night (i and cycle racing where )will know what an achievement that was.
Any way LAnce has said that he will attempt this record before he retires,i only hope that he attempts it at sea level.Which hopefully means it'll either be at Manchester,or at Bordeax in france.

If you take what he said to L'Equipe at face value then he may not be going for the Tour next year, although he could be bluffing. He has already stated he is interested in riding some of the classics next year, and that may result in missing the TdF.

Personally I can't see him going for 3 more tours, he won't have it in his legs, especially at 35/36.

The reason for the bluff is to give Discovery Channel (his new sponsor) a lot of publicity,the only cycle race that the Americans no of and care about is the tour.His new sponsor isn't going to put the millions of dollars in to the team and have them miss the greatest race on earth with the greatest tour rider and the only rider the americans no of a miss..
I'll put good money on Lance being there come July!!
