View Full Version : The Most Annoying Pop Song Ever.
Just watching BBC 3 now and there's a program about the most annoying pop song ever.
Which would be your nomination? Mine would be any Britney Spears song. Doesn't matter which one it is, I just can't stand that noise she makes in every record she records.
drinkingman 24-03-2007, 22:50 "Achy Breaky Heart" by Billy Ray Cyrus. Just typing the title got on my nerves!
Anything by Celine Dion.
or mariah Carey :gag:
Maybe I should have made this most annoying pop star! :hihi:
EdnaKrabappe 24-03-2007, 23:17 Jennifer Rush The Power of Love or Chris De Burgh Lady in Red. Both still make me feel physically sick.
Good call on Celine Dion Hecate:thumbsup: She'd be next on my list
'Saturday Night' by Whigfield. Also (and this int gonna go down well) 'Imagine' by John Lennon.
I honestly think Girls Aloud should take a walk of a pier in concrete boots.
I honestly think Girls Aloud should take a walk of a pier in concrete boots.
I sincerely hope that it would be a long walk off a short pier.
I sincerely hope that it would be a long walk off a short pier.

And i hope that they were dragging Mcfly with them as well
Godzilla 24-03-2007, 23:33 It's got to be Agga Do!
Swan_Vesta 24-03-2007, 23:37 Anything by Daphne and Celeste. I'm so pleased that the crowd at Leeds festival had the decency to boo and pelt the horrific, paedo pop pushing little oiks off stage

Who are they?
Swan_Vesta 24-03-2007, 23:48 Scumbags extrordinaire: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daphne_and_Celeste
:(
purdyamos 24-03-2007, 23:49 Right now, it would have to be the UK entry for Eurovision. When I saw them I wanted to climb into the television and set fire to their heads.

Looks like I was lucky with them as it doesn't ring any bells with me. :)
Jabberwocky 25-03-2007, 02:19 Anything that coldplay do.
The miserable whining gits ought to be machine gunned.
i get the celine dione thing. but titanic was the first movie i could legally get into-you'll be surprised what movies they class 18 back home-with my girlfriend at the time so sentimental and stuff. would still cross my fingers and hope she chokes on her mike if i ever bumped into one of her shows. that 'barby girl' song gotta be up there with the worst though!
Agadoo, Grandma we love you, birdie song, and everything that that guy that sang 'why does it always rain on me'
You ought to hear my impression of the latter, I can beat the Mary Whitehouse Experience version of The Cure, with how depressing that is!! :hihi:
HappyHoosier 25-03-2007, 04:54 A four-way tie for first place:
"Cherish" by The Association
"Muskrat Love" by The Captain & Tennille
"Fernando" by ABBA
"Tie a Yellow Ribbon" by Tony Orlando & Dawn
:gag: :gag: :gag: :gag: :gag: :gag: :gag: :gag:

I  your bottom two! 'Muriel's wedding' is fabulous when they sing Fernando. Tie a yellow ribbon reminds me of being a little girl also if I remember rightly, it's played just before Richard Gere gets his kit off in 'Officer and a gentleman' :hihi:

I can't believe it took 25 posts for this to get a mention. It gets my vote. :gag:
If I lay here...if I just lay here, would you lie with me and listen to HALLAM FM PLAY THIS TUNE OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!!!!!!:gag:
Some crappy song sung by Zig and Zag, it was on TOTP2 on UK TV G2 last night... :gag:
One of the most painful to listen to songs ever... And on the same show, some rubbish called "the number 1 song all over heaven". what the hell?! Some stoned Jimmy Nail lookalike standing in a corner, and some guy with a woman's voice singing the same words constant for 3 minutes does not constitute a number one song, well OK maybe it did in 1979!

I honestly think Girls Aloud should take a walk of a pier in concrete boots.
Agreed .
Although i do have one of their songs . But i'm not telling which :)
I must have thought it was someone else at the time . Thats my excuse and i'm sticking to it :hihi:
Jabberwocky 25-03-2007, 14:09 Wind beneath my wings is the most annoying load of tripe ever. That bloody woman who warbles it ought to be gillotined just as she gets to the "Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu" for the thousandth time.
For those who have forgotten...

That song used to be on teh Tetley's tea bags adverts a few years back.
that bl**dy crazy frog trash that was all the rage a year or so ago. Who on earth was mad enough to buy it and put it up the charts for so long. Oh and the REALLY annoying Madonna one where she nicked the backtune from Abba's Gimme Gimme Gimme - go tell her to put a skirt on and stop flashing her a*se off in that leotard, I'm sick of seeing it everytime I check the music channels.
Yellow - Coldplay.
Have to disagree- I LOVE this song and the video where the sunshine bathes the screen in yellow right at the end - although I do hate Coldplay.
Looks like I was lucky with them as it doesn't ring any bells with me. :)
Thats the first sign of getting older :(- when you dont recognise so-called chart toppers - I must have been asleep when they surfaced too :)
BobbyBunny 25-03-2007, 15:27 Most annoying pop song ever... Just about any pop song.

Why have I just seen David Walliams with a Hitler 'tache? Surreal.
Anybody remember the Reynolds Girls, they sang I'd Rather Jack all i wanted them to do was push off, dont get me started on anything by westlife, or as they are lovingly known in our house Pondscum.
And any rap "song". Hate the things!
excellent call, me too
That Wombles song was uber annoying as well, "Remember you're a Womble", eh?! Remember to sod off you sad be-suited gimp!
Man I'm glad I wasn't born till '76... Most of the pants music of the 70s era had been and gone by then, and I was too young to notice or care for the last 4 years of the 70s.
Waltheof 25-03-2007, 21:15 Both Grandpa, and Grandma we love you get my vote for the most inane sentimental trash ever, not to mention totally out of touch with any reality. For instance, if the things Grandpa is said to remember when the song came out are true, he would have to be about 150...

I have the misfortune of having "Grandad" as the song that was number one when I was born. Why couldn't it have been something cool I could have as a personal anthem? Bah!

Oh bad luck purdy! Have you had a look to see what other songs came out at the same time? You might find one you could adopt as your anthem:)

Crystal Waters. Dreadful stuff.
So many songs that could be put up, but I'll mention "Doop" from about 1994, "Saturday Night" by Whigfield, anything devised in the name of Jive Bunny, I'm already feeling nauseous ...........
purdyamos 25-03-2007, 23:51 Oh bad luck purdy! Have you had a look to see what other songs came out at the same time? You might find one you could adopt as your anthem:)
Unfortunately, the charts woiuld have been rammed full of acts trying to be Christmas number one, so they would have been universally irritating. I suppose I should be grateful it wasn't Cliff Richard!

Interesting thought, what site (if there is one)do I find that out?

You poor thing!
Isn't there any treatment for that?
I'm lucky that at least I got Mungo Jerry 'In the Summertime'.
purdyamos 26-03-2007, 00:20 Interesting thought, what site (if there is one)do I find that out?
I just googled number ones (and hoped it didn't come up with sites featuring golden showers!). Will this (http://www.onlineweb.com/theones/) do? :)

I could go on but I'm busy banging my head on a wall to try and stop the music listed above playing in my mind
