Hi!
I'm a 21 year old male student, studying languages. I'll hopefully be staying in Sheffield from April - August 2005. I'm residing in the Netherlands right now.

If all goes well I'll be working as a trainee for SDL who are located at:
SDL Sheffield
Aspect Court
Pond Hill
Sheffield
South Yorkshire
S1 2BG
UK

Can anyone tell me which "area" that is in? I'm having a bit of trouble finding a clear map on Sheffield and trying to see where it's located in the city. The multi-map map is a tad too small to get a proper view. I do, however, think it's east of one of the universities. u.u

Could anyone point me into the right direction? I'd like to know so I can look for a room nearby. :)

Thank you!

It's off Sheaf Street, bang in the middle of town. Pond Hill runs next to the main bus depot.

Thankee. :)

So when looking for a room, I should be looking for a room in "centre" or "central sheffield"?

For instance:

If I know which of those areas are near I can start looking for a place to stay. ^_^
Preferably I'd like to live within walking distance of SDL.

I work at SDL, and walk in from Crookes, which is about 2.5 miles away, although I should point out that Crookes is relatively high up, so it's up hill all the way.
It kind of depends how much you want to pay really. Hunter's Bar is quite a good area to live, about a mile and half from SDL, a fairly flat walk, and a few lively pubs around and although relatively expensive compared to say Crookes, it would be cheaper than living in the city centre.

Well pleased to "meet" you then. :D

I'm looking for a room with certain facilities for 60 pounds maximum. An online friend of mine attends Sheffield University and has a room in Sheffield as well. I'm pretty much looking for a room using the pointers and tips he gave me.

Thanks for the help so far! :)

A company. :P
The division in Sheffield focuses on localization (roughly: translating computer software and everything that comes along with it).
