lucky you, wish i was going with you.i lived and worked up there for a good few years and still go up at least once a month for drinking purposes with old mates.
tend not to do the toon we always go down south shields and its a stonking night, never no bother and good crack, you must go in bizz bar and glitter ball if you go down shields.
just jump on a metro from toon will take you about 20 mins.
hope you have a good night,if you stop in newcastle you want to be heading for the area called big market

Great city. Quayside is the 'cool' place to go - although the bars get completely packed. You can't really go wrong there.

Depends on what you're up for - but I'd avoid the Bigmarket area - lots of pubs but kinda localised & over run with chavs.

I got advised by a work pal to make sure we went there but he is from Newcastle so maybe I will take the none local's advice.

***** Satement retracted as the lovely people at adecco have now managed to sort it out for me. Only coz my company rang the Sheffield branch who are a million times more helpful than Rotherham*****

Is it not, technically, the Bigg Market (sic) - with scantily clad ladies guaranteed, however cold the weather? :D

depends what you want really:

the bigg market - chav central but quite funny

quayside - its okay (again a bit chavvy) loads of bars and then you're within walking distance of Sea nightclub, the boat nightclub on the tyne) and bajas. All cheesy music.

the gate - near the centre of town has a few generic bars like tigertiger, rsvp i think and a few others all under one roof.

then there's the station bars - this area is getting really good at the mo - there's vodka revolution if you want to know what you're getting and there's a few more individual places like coco - also the apartment (bar/club - quite expensive and trying to be s****y) and the attic nightclub is down there too which is quite nice. head of steam is good if your into more indie/rock music (v.cheap drinks).

then theres osbourne road in jesmond my personal fave -loads of really nice bars and happy hours running from 6pm (i think on the weekend) where you get to "press the button".

also world headquarters is a really good club if your into more individual music and a lot of bass! and if you do go there go to popolos first for cocktails (yum!)

hope this helps. as you can see you'll have lots and lots of choice in the toon!
