Hi all,

Thinking of hols, next year I would like to go abroad. The LO will be almost 2 years old by July 08 which is when I'd like to go- where is good to go with a child of that age?

Been to Magaluf twice with the ex in 02 and 04, enjoyed it then but think it'd be a bit too much now and not much point going somewhere that is basically nothing but bars, pubs and clubs with a young child!
So is there anywhere less lively but not too quiet that's good with a LO? Somewhere where we could still enjoy a drink etc. in the evenings? Must be near to the sea, with nice beaches too as I am not a pool person at all!
And if anyone has been abroad with LO's is it best to go SC or All Inc/ Half board?

my bfs cousins take their little ones to the neighbouring town of palma nova and they love it. its a little more quiet on that side of town and its close to the beaches. i believe they do half board so they can get the kids out n about. they also rent a fridge in the room to keep food for the kids at night.

always gone s/c with the kids but they are fussy eaters thats why,i would have considered all inclusive if they wernt so fussy, the beaaches in Salou are lovely and there is a little funfair at the end of the prom, which you could visit if you so wished

Salou, Costa Dorada... Very family friendly... Plenty of bars which have kids entertainment, clown etc... :)

Most of the mainstream resorts on the med are family friendly, even the ones with busy nightlife. I'd definitely recommend self catering with a little one as you have much more space in an apartment than in one hotel room. you also have a kitchen which is handy for storing drinks and milk in the fridge. It also gives you the flexibility to have cereal or toast at breakfast time without having to get everyone organised and dressed first.
