View Full Version : Tracing Family Tree
I am trying to trace any decendants of John Marklew, born 1849, married Mary, lived on Wood Lane, Treeton, with their 7 children, John, Harry, Sarah, William, Thomas, Joseph and Samuel. William married Martha
I am also trying to trace any decendants of Johnathan Gillvray, born 1857, married Harriet, lived on Greenland Road, Attercliffe, with their 3 children, Claude, Dallas and Leslie. Dallas married John Walker.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I know of a Mick Marklew who was connected with Killamarsh Dynamoes some years ago and lived that way out.
Oh look. Another one of those people who only registered to trace a family tree
If she's not been back since October to contribute any more - this thread probably wants deleting
Calm down dear its only the internet, it's here for sharing information, just like looking in a book.
when someone phones you do you say i'm not talking to them because they havn't phoned for a week.:)

mega_monty 07-05-2005, 20:35 Just incase the original poster does read this, which I doubt, but might be of use for others, theres a good website on the history of Treeton.

Thank you Desy for that information, I will get back to you once I have managed to contact my inlaws.
Strix, yes I only registered to trace my family tree, as I no longer live in the Sheffield area, and have not lived there for more than 20 years, I cannot discuss what is happening in that area. It is quite obvious that you are not the sort of person that I associate with the Sheffield area, understanding, friendly and helpful!
Retep, I agree with you, it is only the internet, a place where information can be gathered.
Mega_Monty, I have got back to you, I make take my time, but I get there in the end, I only access this forum during the working day, when I have a spare 5 minutes, which I don't have very often.

Glad to see you're still with us  Hope you find what you're looking for and can give those people who have contributed here a little info on your quest (I realise you won't want to give away too much)
It's quite obvious you don't read any other sections on here, as I am both informative and helpful to those who 'give and take' ;)
I posted on this thread because there have been a lot of people asking for help with family trees, forumers go to a lot of trouble for them, then we never 'see' them again.
Your thread was 'reincarnated' and was likely to wind up with more people going to some trouble for you.
PS - People often forget it's real people on here - it's not 'only the internet'
