View Full Version : Sheffield United (The Race is on)
DLPLASTERING 21-03-2007, 19:54 (The Race is on) Hulse is out till next season! Paddy Kenny isnt playing well at all, COSTING MATCHES!
Our next two matches are Bolton and Man Utd we need at least 2 points there if possible. But the game what is all important is winning at Charlton, I reckon this is the deciding game.
What are your thoughts?

No points from Bolton or Manure, and only one point max from Charlton I'm afraid. Pessimistic, I know, but realistic also.:(

why would we need 2 points from them games? Ridiculous
remember when we last played bolton, was that when we made a good come back, can't see it happening again.
DLPLASTERING 21-03-2007, 20:05 if you havent seen already, we are close to religation, I dont expect to win but we need all the points we can get at least to have chance of staying up.
Abit worrying at the minute for the blades
CorkerSWFC 21-03-2007, 20:20 I reckon u,ll actually beat bolton they have been playing crap lately, man utd no chance charlton is going to be a battle, although they have been showing glimmers of quality in the last few games.

But are you really expecting to get 2 points from the reebok and old trafford? im thinking no, possible one
happyhippy 21-03-2007, 23:46 Charlton's resurgence is worrying, but I think we may still have just enough. I do worry that we look like a West Brom, when they stayed up.
The midfield have to grab everything by the scruff of the neck now, and lets hope that Luton can provide some goods.
I have a feelimg that it will be Stead & Nade up front,Nade did not get a touch against Chelski.Bolton have been poor but it always happens to them when it is nearing the end of the season,I just hope we can catch them on a bad day.
bladesufc1 22-03-2007, 09:48 NO points form either lancashire team. 2-2 charlton, we'll just stay up via the home games
But good new Hulse is out, as Shelton May very well step in now.. I can see him getting 2 run outs via Bolton & Man U and then will come into his own for the HOME games
Ousetunes 22-03-2007, 10:54 We have two basic problems:
a) we're not scoring;
b) we are conceding.
That normally results in losing and when those around you are winning, the situation looks perilous.
These immediate problems are exacerbated by the loss of (arguably United's only goalscorer) Rob Hulse and I predict that should we be relegated then we will look to Hulse's injury and subsequent absence from the team as being the main reason why we were relegated.
Charlton are now coming good and would appear to be our main opponents in securing that last safe position in the league. However, the run-in looks tougher the more you study it and it's vital that if we get thrashed at Old Trafford (which is likely; Warnock will go there with one up front, we'll go 2 down in 15 minutes and then the team - now with 2 up front - will spend the rest of the game 'chasing') the team must not begin to lose heart.
I cannot honestly see us getting anything at either Old Trafford or the Reebok. We might draw against Charlton and I predict that Watford will definitely get something at the Lane (get their own back from our victory at their place).
It looks quite tough but this is when the Blades surprise us and pull something out of the hat. The players need to be up for it but more important, this is the test of Warnock's know-how (or lack of) and he must get each game technically spot-on.
The thing is we have now lost our last 6 away matches & I for one think it's time the defence did a little better, they seem all at sea away from home & we need a couple of clean sheets, all we have to watch for against Bolton is Davies stop him & you stop Bolton.
CorkerSWFC 22-03-2007, 14:03 isnt kevin davies injured?
CorkerSWFC 22-03-2007, 14:31 oh right, yes he makes a big difference to bolton, hes there target man, and as there play is mostly route one he is pricelss to them.
Paul sturrock "trys" to play the same way as allardyce does, he did at wednesday when he was there anyway.

Stop Davies, AND stop El Hadji Diouf from diving, and then we're in with a shout.
Dangreen 22-03-2007, 19:07 I honestly believe we will stay up, we will get points from Bolton, they always tail off at the end of the season. Come on you blades!!
