West Brom have kicked him out.

If it would have been a couple of months earlier perhaps he could have returned to Wednesday.

they've kicked him out already?!?!?!

he was the guy who got them promoted!

Perhaps it didn't help matters when he said he was quitting anyway at the end of the season.

igm1

lol yeah that didn't help really, bit like signing your own death warrant if you announce that your leaving at the end of the season for "no particular reason"

yeah but it's very difficult to keep a promoted club up in the premiership..... if your hovering in between the top of the championship (div 1 ffs) and the premiership it's not really a bad place to be.

last season they got the money from going into the premiership, didn't spend any and this season they've done pretty much the same. they're saving some money up

they spent quite a bit this season

increased wages

wont have much money in kitty

Enter Bobby Robson. :o

I can't see why he would want this kind of stress at his age.

Do you think he'll accept?

It's a pity he didn't leave earlier though, could have had the wednesday job!

What makes you think a manager who has got a team promoted to the premiership twice would want to take over a very average division 2 side with huge debts?

Despite his obvious history with wednesday, Gary Megson, like Nigel Worthington, probably has more sense.

Lestat

Whats wrong with a Gary Megson-Paul Sturrock partnership for Wednesday?

maybe two high profile managers like those would have conflicting interests in the team

What they are both high profile managers really, both managed teams in the premiership at one point!

Agent Gypo
29-10-2004, 09:47
High profile? Sturrock is sacked because his players didn't have faith in his ability to manage at a high level, and Megson spent more than most other promoted teams yet still failed to avoid relegation.

I suppose they are as high profile as wednesday can hope for though.

Lestat

Actually at the moment they are about as high profile as Wednesday can hope for. But wouldn't it be great to see them working together to restore the side. I think it would be a good idea to have 2 managers who have both had experience in the lower leagues.

As for United, I laughed my head off when they lost on penalties the other night!! Class.

Still a round further than wednesday.

Not exactly the end of the world being knocked out at this stage. I'd rather us go all out for the league (which unfortunately I don't think we'll do that great in) than mess about with the cups again.

Cost me too much money anyway.

yeah was quite funny, but not quite compared to being 2-0 up after 78 mins and losing 3-2

now that was funny

Lestat

or even thinking all season that you're gonna go up and getting into the play-offs only to lose miserably ha ha!:hihi:

Agent Gypo

Not quite as funny as being an average division 2 side for 2 seasons (and probably more) with possibly more than £27million debts.

Still, at least you're a "big club" and your manager is "high profile".

Sheffield Wednesday will ALWAYS be bigger than that pigsty at Bramall lane. Wednesday have always had better attendances, played better football, are more well known worldwide, have a ground that shames the pigsty lane and most important of all Sheffield Wednesday fans are not all Chavs unlike the Gypo's from pigsty lane.

Utd piggies can feel their moment of happiness at being in the championship - it's something new for them to be above Wednesday for so long ( in the league ) whereas Owls have been used to knowing the heights far above those in which the piggies are in at the moment - thats why it hurts so much more for us.

Those at Pigsty Lane can never understand the true meaning of a great club - thats simply because they've never been one.

If the oink's played better football than the Blades, why are they down in league 1?.
"Have a ground that shames' the Lane?. The last time i went past Hillsborough it looked as though it was about to fall down!. When was the last time they spent any money on the 'sty' anyway?.

Lastat, are you one of the lucky people who bought a Premiership return ticket?. At this rate the one ticket will last forever!... Bargain or punishment?.

Robbie Loving
29-10-2004, 17:44
better football hey lestat??

you have not played decent football since waddle left, so how do you expect us to take your posts seriously??

whereas UNITED are currently playing some great football this season!!!

your right, we havent seen a big club, as have wednesday have not!!!

As have Wednesday have actually.:hihi:

Wednesday are renowned in Sheffield for being a club with more class and pedigree than it's lowly neighbour. The Bramall Lane cabbage patch field has sprouted some top vegetables now and again but the whole image of United is that of 'Chav' or to put it scientifically: 'The Scrubber'.

So, Hillsborough stadium looked like it was about to fall down eh? I think you need to put down your glue bag and face reality. No matter where you may be in the league - the simple fact is - Wednesday = forever great.

29-10-2004, 19:43
If i do put my glue bag down some lowly oink from Hillsborough will nick it and use the glue to repair oink central!:hihi:

ok.......... yes they are reknown for being a "bigger" club than united

but they have never been a "big" club, and never will be!

so now that you're a bigger club, how does it feel to be playing in the "big" derby against chesterfield??
