Hi, we are planning to go away in August for two weeks but don't know what to do with our two dogs, previously a neighbour has looked after them but that's not possible now.
The thing is I really don't think they would handle a kennel very well, we have two Shih Tzu's, one is 12 and the other 8, the older one is very timid and if they were split up they would miss each other.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
Thanks.

Try Waggytails - they will look after your dogs in their own home or at your home.

Thanks Caz :)

have you thought about taking them with you? (if your dog has a pet passport, and the correct vaccinations and certificates, you can even take them abroad, now!)
If you havent yet booked the holiday, then there should be no problem to book a pet-friendly holiday, surely?
I've always holidayed where my dog can go with me. I hate being separated from my old poochie. (he'll be 14 in september, bless him..!)
There's a book called "pets welcome", listing places where you and your pet can go together.
I'd rather my dog come with me, than have him go to a kennels. My take on it is "If my dog isn't welcome in your caravan or guest-house, then neither am I, thank you!"

Just to add to what PT said; there are plenty of luxury places which accept dogs now; you don't just have to stay in a caravan!
Just take a look at this place: Helsbury Park (http://www.helsburypark.co.uk/index.htm) (click on 'cottages' then look at 'more photos' - wow!)
I have just booked a cottage for 10 people in a month using Cottages4You (http://www.chooseacottage.co.uk/partners/RRW/index.asp) - really looking forward to it!
