It starts from outside Argos and is every 20 mins 0705 to 1845.
timetables for all services in South Yorks/and all of the county of west and north yorkshire go to the travel planner at www.sypte.co.uk . Its a very good site as it lists every bus stop and how far it is to walk!

Ooooh, Free bus!

Do you pay on the bus and then get a refund on your fare from Tescos, or is it completely free?

When I read 'Free Tesco bus?' I thought, 'Cripes, that's some free offer. Nowhere to park one though!'

As far as I understand the bus is free (you don't need any receipt) and just drops you at Tesco (Abbeydale). Most of the time I see it on London road it is completely empty.

thats because of the grumpy driver...he waits till people are just about to get on..he pretends he hasn't seen them and drives off....its a well known favourite pass time of all bus drivers.

You're a muppet Kirky. Fine you don't like busses, but there's no need to be so grumpy about them.

The one to/from town isn't technically free - that is the park and ride bus - the idea is you park at Abbeydale Tescos, buy a park & ride ticket and get the bus into town. It's the same principle as the Supertram park and rides.

However there is a free Tesco bus once a week from certain areas within the stores catchment area, I think areas served include Jordanthorpe, Lowedges, Woodseats and Norton on one day, and up Millhouses way on another day.
