gmosgerby 25-10-2004, 12:28 Could anybody help us out, been with my girlfriend for a year in december and i want to take hear to a nice ressturant, only really know of the ones down ecceshall road. Could somebody share their local wisdom and help me pick the perfect resturant
You should take her up Brown Street... Some good places up there.
Rossmeister 25-10-2004, 12:36 You've got to take her to Marco @ Milano's on Archer Road. Its an amazing place and never fails to impress.
What about up Beaver Hill...

There's a really trendy place at the back of Paradise Square, but you'll need to go up a back passage to get to it.
There are stairs at the entrance. Go down. It's not much to look at but the fish is great.
Alternatively, you could just treat her to a few chocolate fingers at home.

If you're coming up on an anniversary, why not cook yourself?
Spilt some kippers or get hold of a decent-sized sausage.
Have a go at making your own bread. Girls love it when they see a man with his shirt rolled up. Get both fists in and pummel away. Keep an eye on the sausage though, and make sure there's plenty of oil on the kippers.
You could then whip-up your own sauce, chuck the lot on the baps, and hey presto...
For afters why not have Apple turnover with lashings of custard?
Just an idea.

Nice, but I'd prefer squirty cream on chocolate pudding.
After taking my girlfriend to numerous expensive restaurants, it turns out she likes nothing better than a take out from the local chippy...
She's satisfied with a greasy, battered sausage, as long as it comes with a splash of Daddies.
I like to take Mrs Joyphil to a little place called Nirvana. It's halfway up Beef Alley, a place where I always love to indulge in a good nosh. There's a great club there too, where you can jig away happily for hours getting all sweaty and excited. It's members only round the back, though.
Last I heard the back doors of that club got rammed in by a few firemen.
They haven't been able to shut them since.

Is it me or is my mind working over time :? hmm lol
Yes... It certainly does make you hungry, all this talk of food.
Me too. I'm off for lunch. Funnily enough, it's oriental-stylee fish stew today.
Seriously, the old Trippett's 2 is a fine place. Up at Ranmoor. Believe it's called West 10 nowadays. Can be found on Google. V v good indeed.
I would recomend :
Froggies Bistro - London Road, in town
Wasabisabi - London Road, in town
Thyme - Sandygate Road, Crosspool
Delhi Junction - Dore train station
Rossi's - just of London Road

Unfortunate phrasing of the question really.....
Maybe "Where to take my girlfriend on a night out in sheffield?" would have been less grist to the mill of the comedians that have been enjoying themselves on this thread today.
Please Mr Scrooge, can we have one more piece of funny coal on the comedy fire?!

hey I'm begrudging you nothing - happy you are so fond of journeys up the Khyber Pass.
Carry on Sheff Forum film in the making with these comments..
:help:
Now there's a restaurant where you need a hot towel afterwards.

It's now turned into "Carry on... Where to take my girlfriend"
Is that place any good? Always tended to use the New India Garden and Everest on Chessie Road. They guarantee a good spicy time, but if it's better up the Khyber then I'm all for slipping in there one fine night to try out its sauce.
i took mine to tratoria romana(sp) near tesco on eccie road- it was really nice there!! :D
genesiscouch 25-10-2004, 16:23 I would have to say Regent Terrace is one of the nicest places we've been to around here. Excellent food and a nice cozy quiet atmosphere.

Ha Ha Ha! depends how far you are on in your relationship really!? . . . sorry all, it just tickled me.
No worries. Glad it just tickled.
I've been thinking about this where to take one's girlfriend question, and I suspect that if you're really keen on her (and you must be if you're still getting all romantic after a whole year), you should go with your instincts, feelings and desires. So the answer probably has to be on the back seat of the bus on the way home. As long as nobody's around, that is.
Dick_Turpin 26-10-2004, 17:07 San Lorenzos. It is good in there , thoguh i do feel that the waiter tends to think the pepper shaker is an extension of his hampton when he's waving it around.
