Windows media pkayer 10 seems to be running slow on my computer. The previous version worked fine.

Any idea what it could be, is it crashing with another program-such as a file sharing one like Ares or virus protection?!?! I really am stumped here...

is it still beta or the full release?

i think media player 10 is only a beta version well last week it was anyway:)

having a file sharing programme running will slow most programmes down.... maybe if you shut any other programmes running you should close them down and see if that makes any difference:) :)

It was actually full release from about 3 weeks+ back...

As for the answer to the problem... smartest thing to do is see what processes are running in the Windows Task Manager -> Processes window.. and see which ones are soaking up the CPU cycles or Memory...

With every new release of this sort of software it usually takes more system resources. Nature of the bloatware beast sadly.

theres WLM.exe that uses 39,156k, don't know what that is...

windows media player is 98 on the CPU and uses around 50,000k of memory usage


still goes pretty slow
