Got off the bus in town about 10am and just missed an accident at the top of York street where it meets the tram tracks.

A taxi had ran over someone, the person was still under the taxi near the back wheels.

Did anyone see what happened?
I figured the taxi must have been going at a speed up york street, not to have stopped early enough to avoid it, or was the person already on the ground as was suggested my someone else?

Does anyone know?

How do you know that the person didn't look when crossing and stepped out leaving it too late for the taxi to stop in time?
I hope the person is ok and on the mend but why say stuff like this when you didn't see this accident happen?

Because if you read it properly you will see that what i have wrote is my thought or an opinion, not fact, and i have not said it is a fact.

The reason i said this is because York street is a very small road and the majority of cars i have seen come up there drive at quite a slow pase and not very fast.
But in no way am i blaming anyone, as i mentioned it is just a thought.

That's one of the reasons people put posts on here, very often they don't have the facts or the answers, but by posting on here it is often read by someone who does.
