Hi, ive just done a bit of ironing and thought i would ask the said question, i dont mind it to be honest, but im not 1 of those people who lets a big pile stack up then do it all at once, if ive just got a few things to do i like to get it done out of the way, ready for the next lot, so, do you enjoy it or just do it cos it has to be done? I wont say i enjoy it, just dont mind it

Oh I hate it with a passion...
At the moment, my OH is doing it..
He wanted to buy a caravan and I really didn't want him to so I told him that if he did buy it, then he'd have to do the ironing for 6 months..
I thought theres no chance he'll go for it, but yep, you guessed it, he did !! :o
He bought the caravan last September and he's done the ironing ever since..
Thing is though, on the 26th of this month, his 6 months is up..
Should I tell him ??:hihi: :hihi:

I prefer doing it bit by bit. Once when we first moved in, I left the ironing until it was a big pile then did it. never ever again! Yes, I'm ironing every day, what with having to do my OH's uniform and my daughter's school uniform but it's better than leaving it!!!

I absolutely HATE it! I'm bone idle and really hate doing it!
I had to iron my mates shirt for him the other night and I was terrified of burning it because I just dont know what I'm doing lol! (I tried to look like I knew what I was doing, but for those who know me, they know what I say I can do and what I actually can do are 2 entirely different things... lol)

I'm going to have to pay someone to iron for me once I become a solicitor... I can pull off un-ironed jeans as a student, but lawyers need to look good lol

i hate ironing, its the most boring job ever. i used to do it all the time, just plank myself infront of the tv & iron but i just got sick & tired of doing it. so now in my household, if you want something ironed then you do it yourself. its worked out ok actually, when things get put in the wardrobe they get creased in there anyway moving things about so would just iron it again. my partner says i'm rubbish at ironing jeans & shirts & i always put a line down them or something, so him having to iron his own stuff stops me getting moned at. there is only two of us in the house so its not too bad, if i had kids i would probably do the ironing all at once or buy clothes that dont need ironing.

i know someone who hasnt ironed in her life, yet she,s married with 3 kids, i think she buys clothes that dont crease easy

I don't mind ironing at all really. The one thing i hate ironing though are shirts. Mens button shirts. They just crease so badly!

I find it relaxing and time that i can spend to myself and let my mind wander. I'm the type to let the ironing pile up and then get it all done in one afternoon.

I do have to be in the mood for it though. If i'm tired or stressed it just won't happen. I'll give up after messing up the first item.

I can't say that i like ironing..But when i do things to go out it..

the creases have to be like razer blades.!

A trait of being in the forces.!

I hated ironing before I lost the use of one arm (which makes it one of the most frustrating jobs in the world to attempt). So now I have a combination of clothes that don't wrinkle and someone to do my ironing for me. That makes it a much nicer task.

Bring on the ironing, I love it. Can one ever get too much of a good thing?

Saturday afternoon, football on the wireless, and a large basket of clothes to work my way through. Heaven!

It is the utter pointlessness of ironing that is it's point (hence the word 'irony'). Same for any household chore actually - I mean, you can so easily live without ironing if you want to,without washing-up, without washing your clothes, let alone something as central to our civilization as washing yourself. They say you just cease to notice after a while, although your friends might (while you still have any).

Get your iron out, or just send it all round to me.

I feel that's where you are going wrong and why you are not getting the most out of your ironing experience. Why not become more extreme?! :D

Spice up your ironing then by moving to a different room or better still, do it out in the garden. Initially make samll steps before you decide to go extreme and start doing it on the roof :D

Don't mind ironing at all. Hate to see people with clothes on that have so obviously not been ironed. :(

Tend to do it regularly, as it's dried.

Now cleaning windows. THAT is a job I do hate.

I have to have a freshly ironed shirt and pair of trousers each day, both have to have a crease in them which could circumcise a rhino. I despise ironing. it sucks ass.

How much do you pay her??

Swan_Vesta
16-03-2007, 11:52
That'd be me. I'm the ironing king in our house, I tend to do a massive white wash and then spend a day ironing all of the shirts and starching the creases.

It truly sucks but I'm the smartest dressed young buck I know :)
