Did Mike Tyson win the world championship from Larry Holmes.
I yhink he did, but maybe i am wrong.

This depends on which title you mean because he went on to unify the titles. However, the first title he won was from Trevor Berbick when he was 20 years old and I think that was the WBC version of the title.

Just to help you out further with this.

As I said, Tyson first took the WBC title from Trevor Berbick. In his next fight he won the WBA version from James 'Bonecrusher' Smith. A couple of fights later he won the IBF title from Tony 'TNT' Tucker.

In answer to your question, he did not win the title from Larry Holmes. He did however successfully defend the titles against Larry Holmes on 22/01/1988 and retained them via a 4th Round TKO.

Edit: If you want to be more recent he also regained the title from Frank Bruno in 1996 and then regained the WBA title against Bruce Seldon (also 1996) while getting stripped of the WBC title in the process.
