View Full Version : Mothers Day...Do you make your cards?
Harleykim 14-03-2007, 11:25 I thought I'd give my three mums (Mum, Step-Mum and Mother-in-Law) hand made cards this year. I only have limited supplies as I'm skint :( but I'm quite pleased with them. What do you think?

Ginger_Kitty 14-03-2007, 12:01 I do too, i made one each for my mum and my mum-in-law; hubby got the choice of which one he wanted to send to his mum, and mine gets the other :)
yummyyumyum 14-03-2007, 12:01 me and my baba always make our cards, as whisper said its much more appreciated than a card that cost £5+ and no imagination used.
your cards are lovely

kittenta 15-03-2007, 09:53 They look great well done! How did you do the lettering? I always have trouble thinking of anything other than peel offs
Ginger_Kitty 15-03-2007, 11:07 I jsut dug mine out (i made them a couple of weeks ago when i was housebound) and the one my hubby chose has got squished  :(
They're great! I've not made mine this year as I'm tied up with other things at the mo, but I have been trying to make some for birthdays

Cut your own out of nicely coloured felt! Or other materials, you can choose your own colour, texture and style!
I made one for the kids to send to my mum - here it is : (hope this works!)

Harleykim 10-04-2007, 12:00 Have you done any Easter cards Harleykim?
I haven't :( I've not had the time. I wish I had though.
Jabberwocky 10-04-2007, 12:03 Ive always said that things-weather theyre cards or gifts that are made by hand are far better than things that are bought from a shop.
Theres more love in it for starters and when I get anything hand made by someone I keep it forever. Just the thought that a loved one has worked on the item makes it a thousand times more precious, dont you think?

Totally agree Jabber. I've started doing most of my own cards now. I really enjoy it and the response I have had from people has been worth the while. They love 'em (or so they say!)
