I'm just makin this topic to let you people out there know that media player 10 was released earlier tonight, it only takes about 2 minutes to download, well if you have broadband, if not its a 52 minute wait for those running 56k. its got a new layout and a few new skins and a little graphic equlizer in the bottom pannel of the screen wich fasinates me! Probably because i am easily amused but there ya go, thats me. lol

Yes, but is it worth the trouble to download and upgrade?

Well i personnaly feel that it is, it probably has many new features which i haven't discovered yet and it will be more stable, i would definetly try to upgrade to it but if you dont feel that it is necessary then dont. Also it doesnt work with any operating system apart from XP (I think so as that is the message it gave me when installing).

It also has a nice MP3 ripping feature and can be used with mobile music players (MP3, minidisc)

Is it still the beta version or have they now released it as a finished product?.

Use iTunes - it p*****s all over WMP.

iTunes does pretty much everything WMP does, it access track names from Greacenote CCDB same as WMP. I prefer the look of iTunes .

I got it, it still sucks... I prefer Winamp, its much better in my opinion... I use it a lot and I use it for ripping songs and its a LOT better than Windows media player...

plus the older skins are compatible with XMMS for the linux OS :D

I admit iTunes is a good programme and i will start using it this christmas when i get my iPod! hopefully anyway lol. I just like WMP because its quite simple but still has a whole range of features that can make your music great if you know how to use them, i supose its down to personal preference.

Not bad ... but what happened to the media player radio thingy !?

In MP9 ... it's there ...

In MP10 ... it's a total con !! ... sure ... it says radio ... but it's this awful MSN radio thingy where you have to pay to play ...

I fell out with Winamp and Media Player a long time ago. Not a fan of i-Tunes either. However I found one called Foobar written by a previous coder of Winamp. Funnily enough when Winamp started getting worse was after he left the team.
