MuteWitness 13-03-2007, 09:46 i think you can get it collected but theres something about taking the door off
neeeeeeeeeek 13-03-2007, 09:47 If it works give it away. Otherwise you can't just dump it. The council will collect if you ring them but I am not sure about the charges.
fox20thc 13-03-2007, 09:52 £30 charge from the council if you are not renting from them.

Ginger_Kitty 13-03-2007, 10:01 I thought the council picked up fridges and freezers for free?

Only if your are a council tenant, the cost is apparently included in the rent.

Q. How do I dispose of my fridge/freezer?
A. Fridges and freezers have to be treated in accordance with European Directives to remove the CfCs contained within both the coolant and the foam insulation. You can have your fridge/freezer collected and disposed of free of charge by ringing the Sheffield Council call-centre on 273 4567 and then pressing 1 to get through to the Veolia (formerly Onyx) call-centre. Veolia will then arrange with you when the unit can be collected and they will ensure that it is disposed of correctly. Alternatively you can take them to one of the Household Waste Recycling Centres
