about 3 days we though she might have drunk some dirty water but she doesn't seem much better she seems to have cooled down abit at the moment shes drinking but only if we give it her, shes not going to get it her self.

Get her too a vet dont take the risk dehydration can cause more problems in itself.

Seconded

If it's been that long, she needs a vet - especially if she isn't bothering herself to her water dish on her own

I would take her to the vet, it was only a couple of weeks ago that pippa had been 'off colour' for 24 hours and in that time she got so bad she ended up staying at vets to be put on a fluid drip cos she had got so dehydrated so quickly, she was being sick aswel though.

If she has been drinking when you have been giving it to her then she should be ok for tonight.

Just keep your eye on her and take her in the morning

fingers crossed :)

Have a read of our 'what to feed a sick dog' thread (if you're doing real food for her - make sure you don't include salt at all)

and as you've decided to wait until morning to see the vet, I'd offer her some probiotic yoghurt or yoghurt drink to aid her digestion - which is pretty much what Brude was prescribed last time he was horribly ill and not keeping food down

*fingers crossed*

I'm so glad she's feeling a bit better :)

Sometimes they just like to frighten the life out of us :(

Hope she is feeling better.
Dogs can and do go without food if they are off colour. Usually they know best - and don't bother trying to coax them. They are putting their energy into healing themselves first - and can easily go for about 3 days without food. However, they can't go half a day without water - so if off water - syringe some into her mouth - dioralytes (sp) if she is going for the not drinking route.

ALWAYS with a sick dog - you need to check the temprature - that is the biggest indication. Its a thermometer up the bum route - so don't do it if you are unsure (and don't use it yourself once you have done ) eeeeek

I can't remember what the numbers are - i always forget and have it stuck on my thermometer so i remember - but i know its only allowed to go a few degrees over what they should be -and that indicates REALLY poorly
fingers crossed - do you think she could have picked up any poison outisde, or swallowed an object (ie socks) or something?

Is she entire or neutered?. If she is entire, this sort of behaviour can occur when she is due in season. Moodiness, sulking, depression, clinginess and temperament change can all be due to hormones. worth having the vet give her a check over in any case to put your mind at rest.

Dogs and cats can get a bit of the cold as well...my mates male dog went through a stage where he was whimpering and whining picking at his food and being very clingy. Found out it was just a little case...its a typical male thing (no offence) they get a bit of a cold and think they are dieing from Leprosy.
