They used to say you get what you pay for. House surveyors usually provide different surveys at different prices so just make sure whichever survey you go for you know what they're surveying.
A cautionary tale, my sister had a survey done which included the roof, three months later the lead flashing in the gullies by the attic window failed in a fairly spectacular way, when she complained to the surveyor they pointed out in the small print, the roof survey looked at the timbers supporting the roof and the state of the tiles, no mention of leadwork so they weren't to blame. My sister was not a happy bunny!!!

Sureley for a full structural survey you should be looking for a structural engineer rather than a surveyor? Or perhaps I'm wrong. Surveyors that do pre-purchase surveys on houses usually mention these people as a get-out clause if they do find something that is iffy.

PS - what do you need a full structural survey for? Are you doing up something ramshackle? I believe these things are rather expensive
